When saying "I love you" isn't enough

My husband @inakiescudero read this Rilke poem to me about a month ago. And we both agree this HAS to be the most beautiful poem ever written. It says it all, it evokes devotion, unconditional admiration and loving respect. It simply is Brilliant!

So I decided to turn it into a poster to always be reminded of how incredibly lucky we are to have found such intense love.

The actual title is "Extinguish Thou My Eyes"

Colorful Change. #BAD09

Sunclimatechangebad09

Today is Blog Action Day #BAD09. A worldwide event where bloggers from around the world use their keyboards to express their voices on the controversial topic of Climate Change.

So these are the questions that pop the most around the matter:
What is climate change?
Are we responsible for Global Warming?
What can we do about it?

In the end, the answer is simple: Just like any disease, sickness or addiction, the first step toward finding the cure is being AWARE. The process can not begin without the mere realization that something is not working accordingly and that behavioral adjustments are much needed, even thought we might not get to benefit from our contributions directly. I'm no expert in the matter, but I was raised in Perú, I have this gene to preserve and save. I also believe that we are all good at something unique. Identifying that superpower can benefit the world, one stroke at the time. Find that in you, and give up just a little bit of what you are accustomed to. We are creatures of habit, so after a quick while, you will not miss it anymore and it will become part of your code.

If you love to paint, design, blog or write, then use it toward benefiting the world. There is a lot we can do besides just turning the light off or riding our bike to work.

I invite creatives from all over the world to help generate an awareness/viral campaign that can one educate people everywhere of the sevirity of this issue as well as speak in terms we can all understand and feel related to. Part of the challenge is that to many of us this problem is too far removed, too far away to create an instant reaction. Let's make a campaign that speaks to humans, not scientist. A campaign that propels behavioral shift versus friction. I'm sure this is viable. I just recently saw a campaign by VW that speaks to the soul and that resembles the best way to promote consumers to change daily habits.

It shouldn't be that hard, and in the end it will be more gratifying than any campaign we have ever worked on.

Enjoy today, because today can be a very good day!

Are you squared?

I was in PerĂº recently, visiting my family, and I realized I felt a bit lonely here in NY. I was sharing this feeling with my mom, and she gave me a great analogy. She said "In our culture we live and move in circles. These circles interact and form new units. In other cultures, people live inside squares. These touch sometimes, but are harder to penetrate." I found it fascinating and kept thinking about all the angles of these 2 shapes that inmany cases define society and even personalities.

So which one would you choose? Which one do you prefer? Which one do you belong to?

I like my circles, much better.

Twit-power!

So I have a numerous family, I know people, I have friends, and now I have my "twitts" whom I can count on, repetitively, no matter the time, the distance or the language.

Yesterday I was amazed, once again, at the power of Twitter. I twitted I had an issue with Facebook and immediately 10 people jumped to the rescue. I had a major problem in my hands, that was able to be resolved because someone I follow and follows me back, kindly offered to put me in touch with the right person to solve it.

Twitter is simple, straight forward and direct. It feels like that safe place where you can be yourself, share, scream, rant, steal, learn and open up. All without any of the BS we face everyday.

 Please RT :)

Bermuda - turquoise

I was just in Bermuda shooting a commercial. It is an amazing island, surrounded by turquoise waters and incredible cotton-like clouds. I have to say, it is one of the mot beautiful and breathtaking places I have EVER been to. I highly recommended!

Have you made a new friend lately?

Remember that feeling when you find all the things you have in common?

It is amazing, uplifting and rewarding to meet someone with whom you have so much to talk about. Where conversations don't have awkward pauses and they understand you completely. They "get" you. So is it an egotistic feeling? Where you feel like someone actually cares about what you think, believe and have to share? Well, if it is, I love it! It's good for the soul :)

Rubus idaeus

I just recently became a fan of Raspberries.

 Why just now?

Why did it take me so long to fall in love with something so obvious?

The raspberry (plural, raspberries) is the edible fruit of a multitude of plant species in the subgenus Idaeobatus of the genus Rubus; the name also applies to these plants themselves. The name originally referred to the European species Rubus idaeus (with red fruit) still used as its standard English name.

Life passport.

So shouldn't we be able to get passports for free as US Citizens? Why does it cost so much? But most importantly, why is it such a complex process?

Left Right Left Right

Listening to ColdPlay's "Left Right Left RIght" CD. An amazing way to compensate for their fans' support and devotion. They are a great band, their music is inspiring, their lyrics rewarding and they are one with their audience.

Read this post by @inakiescudero on how this CD was distributed.

Thank you ColdPlay! You can follow them on twitter too.
